Prepping the property

Before the session, create a schedule with the landlord or the landowner before shooting so that the space is ready. Prior to scheduling and if time permits, visit the property ahead and make sure the driveway, garage, garden, or lawn is clean, relocate parked cars, and remove unflattering objects such as waste bins. Once done, the actual day of the photoshoot may finish earlier than scheduled.

Considering the direction of the sun

If you consider the position of the sun, you could further show the exterior of the property in the best possible light. Consider the house’s perspective for a photoshoot at the daytime. If the shoot takes place on a cloudy day, it will help to spread shadows and even provide good light. Avoid shooting at noon if the sun is directly overhead. It produces extreme highlights and dark shadows outside the house.

Moreover, if the idea of a perfect sky in unattainable, sky replacement can still be done during post-processing work. Transform every shot into a dusk shot, since this is the most desirable way for outdoor pictures.

Aligning the Property

For capturing an aligned exterior property, place the camera mounted on the tripod. Use the camera’s timer to take the shot. This prevents a camera from shaking and eventually blurring the image. A tripod is necessary for long periods of exposure, even in low light in the dark.

Aside from the timer, utilize the grid for viewfinder alignment to make sure that lines are both vertically and horizontally level. This distorts the property and drags the picture off if the lines are not straight. During post-production, viewpoint will also be adjusted if you are talented.

Focus on the Good Spots

For the photo to stand out, take in the photographs which give each property its own distinctive identities, such as fascinating architectural objects or a landscape of the trees surrounding the home. Sometimes these details are key points of selling.
