Looking fresh with glowing skin in the winter season is a challenge. Our skin is the largest organ of the body that always protects us. However, it also needs protection sometimes, especially in the winter season. The skin fails to preserve moisture, especially in the winter season when the air is humid. Due to this, we are required to pay extra attention to our skin. Below is what you need to know for skincare in the winter season:

  1. Stay hydrated:

Your body and particularly your skin needs hydration regardless of the season. In the cold season, we reduce our water intake, and due to this, our skin becomes dry. The best way to get rid of dry skin is to drink plenty of water. Even if you are not thirsty, drink water throughout the day, especially early in the morning. If you feel cold, you can drink lukewarm water. Some people also experience redness on their skin due to rash and dryness. Use anti-redness cream at Bioderma regularly.

  1. Use a cleanser with moisturizing properties:

At the onset of the winter season, the skin starts getting dry. This happens because of a decrease in the humidity level. Your parched skin needs so much care to look fresh and cold in the cold. The moisturizing cream not only keeps the skin hydrated but also acts as a barrier between the skin and the cold air in the environment. If you want to use the cleanser, make sure that it is also hydrating. The cleanser will remove the dirt also.

  1. Add retinol:

Retinol is the best and skin-friendly agent that smoothens the skin and also removes acne. After applying the retinol, make sure that you don’t forget to use the sun protection factor. The UV rays damage the skin more in winter because we don’t avoid the sun as we do in summers. You can also use some winter skincare products that contain retinol

  1. Choose products prudently:

Some people make the mistake of going with the same products throughout the year. They forget that the needs of their skin change as the variation in the temperature occurs. So, it is always recommended that you change the skincare routine wisely as the winter season approaches.

Try to use products that feel gentle to the skin and don’t damage it. For instance, in case you have breakouts on your face, use glycerin or some other repairing items that can become a guard for skin and safeguard it.

  1. Don’t use scrub:

If you are in the habit of using the scrub in summers to clean the skin, it is time to wean off this habit in cold weather. Your skin is already sensitive and dry in winters. Using scrub and exfoliating damages the parched skin even more. If you still want to use the exfoliator, use a product that is gentle to the skin.
