My Trip UK Scam Tactics & Stressful Experience – Avoid at All Costs

I want to share my personal experience with Flightech Ltd, also known as My Trip UK, to help others avoid the same nightmare I went through. Booking flights should be simple and stress-free, but this company turned it into one of the most frustrating and upsetting experiences of my life.
I found their website, mytripuk.com, and saw what looked like a good deal. The price for six tickets was £4,370. It seemed like a reasonable offer, and after checking the details, I decided to go ahead and book. I paid in full and thought everything was sorted. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning of the problems.
Two days later, I received a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be from their team. They told me there was an “issue” with the tickets and I needed to pay an extra £650. I asked for an explanation, but the reason they gave didn’t make any sense. It felt like they were just making up excuses to get more money. I was already worried, but I didn’t want to lose the booking, so I paid the extra amount.
As the departure date came closer, I received another call. This time, they said my entire flight had been cancelled. I was shocked. They then told me I would need to pay £450 per person to rebook the flight. That came to a total of £2,400, on top of the £5,000+ I had already paid. At that moment, I realised this was likely a scam.
Instead of panicking, I decided to contact the airline directly. I explained everything, including the flight number and all my booking details. The airline representative was very helpful and confirmed that my flight had not been cancelled. In fact, they told me there was no need to pay anything at all. They rebooked the flight for free and assured me that my seats were still valid.
This is when everything became clear to me: My Trip UK had been trying to trick me into paying more money for no reason. I had almost lost thousands of pounds if I had believed what they told me. It was a very close call, and I feel lucky that I checked with the airline in time.
Their business model seems to rely on misleading customers and demanding extra money after they’ve already paid. They use WhatsApp to contact you, which already feels unprofessional, and they push you to make fast decisions. The worst part is that once you pay, there are no refunds, no clear communication, and no proper customer support. If something goes wrong, you’re completely on your own.
To make things worse, I later realised that they have fake positive reviews on Google and Trustpilot. When you first search for them, it looks like they’re a trusted company. But if you read carefully or dig a bit deeper, you’ll notice many real customers reporting the same scam-like behaviour: low prices at first, followed by demands for extra money, cancelled or changed flights, hidden fees, and no refunds. It’s all part of a pattern.
I strongly advise anyone reading this to stay far away from My Trip UK or Flightech Ltd. Their only goal is to take as much money from you as they can. They do this by lying, confusing customers, and creating fake problems with bookings. There is no honesty or fairness in how they work. I would never recommend this company to anyone. It was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
If you’ve already booked with them and feel something is off, contact the airline directly as soon as possible. Do not agree to pay any extra money without confirming with the airline. And if you’re considering booking through them – don’t. Save yourself the stress, the risk, and the financial loss. Book with a company that’s trusted and transparent.
This was my personal experience, and I hope it helps others avoid making the same mistake.
