The Best Clubs in Vancouver for a Night Out
By day, Vancouver’s great outdoors—with their beautiful mountain backdrop, lush forests, and sparkling blue oceans—captivate the hearts of tourists and residents alike. But many people don’t know that once the sun goes down, the city pulsates with energy from its late-night restaurants, premier bars, and energetic nightclubs. You can do practically anything in Vancouver, from trying your hand at slot games with cash rewards to watching a one-of-a-kind show. However, there’s something truly special about letting loose and dancing to your favorite hits. Due for a night out? Here are some of the best clubs in Vancouver you won’t want to miss.
Gallery
If you’re looking for a premier nightlife experience, you don’t have to look any further than Gallery. What’s unique about the space is that it brings together live entertainment and a classic dance party—but not just any old entertainment. You can expect aerial stunts, fire performers, as well as world-class DJs, in a high-end, two-story space. Gallery describes a night on the town there as a “multi-sensory” experience, with professional mixologists to put together anything your heart desires. Feeling especially fancy? You can order a Dom Perignon Rose Luminous six-bottle parade or even choose one of their existing bottle packages.
Bar None
Tucked away in the trendy neighborhood of Yaletown, Bar None is a Vancouver nightlife staple, having been around for nearly 30 years. This converted warehouse frequently plays host to a variety of local DJs, as well as famous artists such as Drake, Anderson .Paak, and Ty Dolla Sign. Before it was the popular dance club it is today, it was once a hip-hop hot spot in the ‘90s and had a history as a gay bar. In 2023, it underwent a change in management and a full renovation, featuring brick walls, vibrant wave lighting, exposed wood beams, and floor-to-ceiling light boxes to reinforce that exciting atmosphere the club’s always been known for.
Twelve West
Head to Twelve West’s website, and you’ll see stars like Travis Scott, Justin Bieber, and Post Malone splashed across their page. Considered one of the best nightclubs in the entire country, it’s the perfect place to go if you want to have a night to remember. This party hotspot spans 7,500 square feet, decorated with glittering chandeliers, leather couches, and a moody atmosphere that’ll make you feel like a VIP. The club features three VIP sections and North America’s first EVO-6E sound system, so you can hear and feel every beat as you dance the night away.
The Roxy Cabaret
More interested in an unpretentious vibe? The Roxy might be down to earth, but it certainly knows how to throw a good party. While you can swing by on a Friday night to grab a couple of drinks and get down on the dance floor, this spot is especially known for hosting live performances. Every week, you can catch performances from up-and-coming artists, tribute bands, and house bands. Established in 1988, The Roxy has been a highlight for live music and laid-back drinking.
Celebrities Nightclub
Celebrities paved the way for Vancouver’s gay nightlife scene since it opened in 1978, but because of its renown and its history of attracting famous performers and DJs, it began to draw in a more diverse crowd. With such a big non-LGBT following in addition to their LGBT patrons, Celebrities was renovated to become a broader music event space. The new interior is dazzling, with a state-of-the-art light show, prime audio and video systems, a wraparound balcony, and two VIP areas. Week to week, the club has themed club nights and a lengthy events list, so there’s always something going on.
Fortune Sound Club
This unassuming spot on the second floor in Vancouver’s Chinatown is one of the city’s favorite places to have a blast. Before there was a neon sign for Fortune Sound Club hanging outside, the space was the site of Ming’s Restaurant from the 1940s onward. While this former historic restaurant served “authentic Chinese dishes at moderate prices,” Fortune Sound Club has transformed it into a clean and modern club with a Funktion One Sound System. Club weeklies include Midnight Mondays with resident DJs and vintage pop-ups, Happy Ending Fridays for rap and club hits, and Wya? Saturdays for dance music and hip-hop anthems.
The Biltmore Cabaret
The Biltmore Cabaret has a long and significant history—some say Miles Davis and The Beatles played there, while others remember it as a movie house. After all its changes and renovations, it returned to the community with a fresh face, rebuilding its amazing musical tradition. It has quickly become an iconic spot again, famous for its intimate setting. Here, you can get up close and personal with local talent, participate in a dance party, and laugh at comedy acts. While not a dedicated club per se, the Biltmore has a classic atmosphere decked out in red velvet, welcoming fun crowds every week and always buzzing with energy.
Mansion Nightclub
In the heart of Vancouver, located on the first floor of the Paradox Hotel, is the exclusive Mansion Nightclub. It was created by After Dark Hospitality, the same group that owns many of Vancouver’s other premier destinations, including Twelve West Nightclub and WestOak Restaurant. With 9,000 square feet of space, this South Beach-inspired, multi-level club will excite all your senses with swanky décor, strobe lights, and pumping beats all night. Fire pits, neon lights, a rooftop patio and pool, and soaring ceilings come together to create the ultimate party atmosphere. Step foot into the Mansion, and you’ll feel like you’ve just entered a celebrity hangout spot.
